Following on from our last article about a career in Salesforce.com, this time around we explore the role of a developer. Here at ROD we deal with various salesforce.com end-users and ISV, so we know first hand, what skills they are looking for within their Salesforce.com Developer jobs. But, before becoming a Developer it is recommended that you learn Salesforce.com as an Administrator first and then progress to become a Developer. Even the best developers will agree with this!
By now you should really have some understanding of visualforce, basic knowledge of the apex language and how to create complex workflows and business processes from your time as an administrator. Experience tells us that people who are passionate about programming, often dabble on the developer platform outside of work creating apps. And the more complex they are; the better!
