Last week we saw one of the world’s largest technology events, that was Dreamforce, take place with over 170,000 registered attendants. It was a fantastic 4 four day event filled with breakout sessions, keynotes, entertainment and charity events.
Trailhead blazing the way for learning?
You’ve heard of gamification. But, the Trailhead Zone takes this to whole new level, as Salesforce enthusiasts, seasoned pros and everything in between queued up to take their place in completing challenges to earn prizes. And it doesn’t matter how often you take part in a Trailhead challenge there is nothing more satisfying than earning your badges!!
Start-up gets a leg up from Benioff
Aside from all the usual activity at Dreamforce, we saw a new event on the agenda. Dreampitch! Salesforce gave three start-ups the opportunity of winning $150,000 prize money by pitching their Salesforce app. The winner was Claire, a chatbot for testing consumer products, but it was a sterling effort by all the pitchers, so well done!
Dreamforce wouldn’t be Dreamforce with a worthy cause, or two. This year two main charities featured within the event, with over $900,000 raised for (RED), a charity whose goal is to create awareness and raise funds to deliver the first AIDS-free generation.
Plus, the Dreamforce concert, which was headlined by U2, raised over $10,000,000 on ticket sales and sponsorship alone. The money raised from the concert was donated to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
