SuccessConnect 2016 was an absolute resounding “Success”. Organised by SAP SuccessFactors, this two day action-packed event opened on November 28th, in the heart of Vienna. The event kicked off with a keynote from SAP SuccessFactors President, Mike Ettling, and Chief Human Resources Officer, Stefan Reis offering inspirational and fundamental insights for the HR world. Entertainment was provided by a ‘A Taste of Vienna’. And, there was a charity event held for Girls in Tech (GIT), which is a global not-for-profit, focusing on the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology.
Plus, global provider of reinsurance and insurance, SwissRe, took to the stage to discuss how far they’ve come since they started working with SAP, and how it was such a huge step for them at the beginning.
Next on the agenda was the “The Simply Human Show”. A fantastic and visual presentation of the direction that SAP is heading. And the announcement of the long awaited ‘Managed Pay Roll’ subscription model. Giving on-premise customers a simple and clear path to the cloud.
The equally brilliant second day of SuccessConnect kicked off with “The Firing Line” show. Hosts Bill Kutik and Mike Ettling talked about life, work and management software at SAP. The main message from the day was that HR needs to be more data-driven, but essentially without losing the human touch.
The “Women In Leadership” luncheon, hosted by Emma Sinclair and Charlene White, which was not only a full house, but enjoyed by both sexes, got across the importance of females in leadership positions. Sinclair said “Deep down, I believe it’s about talent, not gender”. A sentiment that we couldn’t agree more with. Diversity is extremely important within the workplace and more hiring managers need to take note of this!
The after show networking opportunities, was greatly improved by the flow of drinks. And before the event closed its doors for another year, there was still time for former F1 champion, Niki Lauda, to share a few legendary stories about his sporting achievements and business adventures.
