The ROD team were all in attendance (including M.D. Lee Durrant, pictured) at the Cloudforce Social Enterprise Tour, London, 2012. Our Operations Director, Theresa Durrant, gave us her thoughts on a hot, but superb day…
I could tell that we were off to a good start with this years’ Cloudforce London, when we woke up to one of the hottest days for 2012 so far. And we were not disappointed.
It clearly felt like the biggest Cloudforce London event to date, which was backed-up by the announcement that there were 14k registered attendees. The atmosphere was certainly buzzing and the excitement was clearly palpable from the minute I arrived. Whilst there was plenty of new faces to join the many familiar ones that I have seen each year, they all seemed to have one thing in common; a love for all things Cloud.
The event and stands were crammed in over numerous floors and it was a hard job to find time to see everything, including the rousing and passionate Key Note Speeches, which saw even the overflow rooms filled to capacity; and not to forget the other break-out sessions, like ‘Transform your organisation with chatter’. But like men and women on a mission, we managed to see it all.
Some of the plus points were the number of Partners who were exhibiting, who reinforced the fact that the Cloud is growing at a phenomenal rate. The products that we managed to see demonstrated are bigger and better than before; and utilises the force.com platform in a way that is constantly challenging the boundaries of cloud computing as we mere mortals know it.
The Social Media Command Centre was a real crowd pleaser and only reinforced salesforce.com, message that businesses must start using social media for fear of being left behind.
And an even bigger plus point, the team came back inspired. Already ideas are flying around the office on how to get the best from our social media and chatterings…which can’t be bad.
